The conference “En route to Sustainable Aviation: from Climate Science to Mitigation Policies” is co-organised by the Air and Space Academy and Météo & Climat, in partnership with Météo-France.
Air and Space Academy (AAE)
The Air and Space Academy (Académie de l’air et de l’espace, AAE) is a public-interest association founded in 1983 by André Turcat and based in Toulouse, bringing together leading figures from the aeronautics and space sectors.
It is composed of elected members of all nationalities who hold or have held significant responsibilities in aerospace-related fields. Its members come from diverse backgrounds, including engineers, industrialists, researchers, managers, pilots, astronauts, doctors, lawyers, economists, journalists, writers and artists.
They constitute a pool of knowledge unique in Europe aimed at promoting and furthering the development of high quality scientific, technical, cultural and human activities in the fields of Air and Space.
AAE aims to shed light on major developments, foster collective reflection, and contribute to the sustainable development of aerospace activities. Through its work, publications and events, it provides independent insights into scientific, technical, economic and environmental issues.
Main missions
- Promote scientific, technical, cultural and human development in aerospace
- Produce and disseminate high-level multidisciplinary analyses and recommendations
- Contribute to public debate and inform decision-makers
- Promote a systemic approach integrating technological, economic, environmental and societal dimensions

Météo et Climat
Météo et Climat is a nonprofit organization recognized as being of public interest, taking over the role of the French Meteorological Society founded in 1852. Météo et Climat has been chaired by climatologist Jean Jouzel since 2009.
Météo et Climat works to inform public debate, foster collective reflection, and disseminate reliable scientific knowledge on climate and environmental issues.
Among its activities, Météo et Climat organizes conferences, scientific symposia, thematic meetings, and exhibitions—including the Climate and Biodiversity Tour—as well as scientific awards and publications, such as the scientific journal La Météorologie and the digital publication Météo et Climat Info.
Main missions and objectives
- To bring together the atmospheric and climate science community and promote its work.
- To provide information on the contribution of observation and modelling to weather forecasting and climate monitoring.
- To disseminate scientific knowledge on meteorology, climate, and climate change.
- To promote the development of this knowledge and its uses through research and innovation.
- To raise awareness among the public, the media, and socio-economic and academic stakeholders.
- To mobilize action against climate change through scientific mediation.
- To promote educational projects, the work of researchers, and innovative actions by local authorities and businesses.
