Call for scientific posters

This opportunity is open to all scientists, whether they work in the public sector or for a private company. The selected posters will be on display to conference participants in a dedicated space, particularly during the intersession break on 19 November.

The aim is threefold

• To supplement general presentations included in the conference programme by presenting more specific findings aimed at experts;
• To demonstrate to all stakeholders in the ecosystem the scientific community’s commitment, and to showcase a number of its key players;
• To encourage discussions amongst scientists and with other stakeholders as to the implications of the results presented.

Suggested topics

Priority in the selection process will be given to areas where scientific research aims to reduce uncertainties or to take them into account as effectively as possible in decision-making processes, particularly with regard to non-CO2 effects and their impact on the climate. Whilst not ruling out other topics, two themes are given priority:

1. Understanding emissions other than CO₂ and their impact on the climate.
2. Contrails: observation, attribution, prediction and mitigation.

A poster-sized grid measuring H 200 x L 100 cm.

Submission guidelines

The selection process takes place entirely online, as part of the registration process:
1. Choose a theme
Select one of the following

• understanding emissions other than CO₂ and their impact on the climate;
• contrails: observation, attribution, forecasting and mitigation;
• other.

2. Submit an abstract
Write and submit an abstract setting out:

• the context and objectives of your scientific work;
• the methodology adopted;
• the main findings and their implications.

3. Assessment and selection

The Programme Committee will select up to 40 abstracts from proposals received during conference registration, after assessing:

• the extent to which the scientific work is relevant to the priority themes of the call for posters and, more generally, to those of the conference;
• the originality of the work or results presented in relation to the published scientific literature;
• the significance of the implications of the results.

While applying these assessment criteria, the Programme Committee will endeavour, as far as possible, to ensure in its final selection:

• a proper balance between the proposed themes and the types of topics covered;
• an international balance.
